5 Activities to Check Off Your Summer Bucket List

Aug. 14 2018 Just for Fun By Dealer Spike

With just over a month left before the official start of the autumn season, the time is now to squeeze in the last of your summer fun. Here are five easy ideas to keep you busy until the colder temperatures kick in and the leaves start to fall.

Watch a Movie at a Drive-In Movie Theater

Take a walk down memory lane and see a movie at a local drive-in theater. They can be hard to find, but most states have at least one that is still active. Grab the popcorn and some candy for old times’ sake and see a new release at an old-school drive-in on a warm night.

Pick Berries

While the beginning of summer is the ideal time for collecting strawberries, mid- to late August is a great time of year for picking blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. While this is a fun summer activity on its own, make it even better by using your berries for a dessert like pie, cake, or homemade ice cream.

Visit an Amusement Park or Fair

Here’s another fun idea for a blast from the past – go on some rides and eat cotton candy at a local amusement park or fair. This is a budget-friendly activity that would be great for a date night or a family activity, and you’re sure to feel a wave of nostalgia for summers’ past.

Go for a tasting at a local winery or brewery.

Although this is an activity that you could do year-round, it’s arguably the most fun to do in warm weather as there’s usually an option to taste outside. Expand your palate by tasting flavors and varieties you wouldn’t normally go for and try out some food pairings as well. This is a great option for a group get-together or birthday celebration.

Go Camping…Even in Your Own Backyard

If you haven’t made it on a camping trip yet this summer, there’s still time left! And if a weekend getaway or out-of-town trip isn’t in the cards, why not spend a night under the stars in your own backyard? It’s easy, free, kid-friendly, and you’ll still have access to all the comforts of home.

We hope you all enjoy the last weeks of summer!
